How Hebrews 12:19 Stood Out

Hebrews 12:19 (2023) – And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more [cf. Ex. 20:19 – And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. Amos 7:12-13 – Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: But prophesy not again any more at Beth-el: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court. Mic. 2:6 – Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame. II Tim. 4:3-4 – For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. Prov. 28:9 – He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. Hos. 4:6 – My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.]
