How Hebrews 11:13 Stood Out

Hebrews 11:13 (2024) – These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. [cf. Ecc. 3:1,5 – To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ... A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; Job 24:8 – They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter. Ps. 18:31 – For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? I Cor. 10:4 – And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. Prov. 4:7-8 – Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
