How Philippians 2:3 Stood Out

Philippians 2:3 (2023) – Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. [cf. Rom. 12:16 – Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Ps. 138:6 – Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off. Prov. 3:33-34 – The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. Prov. 11:2 – When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. Prov. 16:18-19 – Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. Zech. 9:9 – Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. Matt. 11:28-30 – Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.]
