How John 13:4 Stood Out

John 13:4 (2024) – He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. [cf. Prov. 23:21 – For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. Prov. 25:16 – Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it. Prov. 30:8-9 – Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.]
