How Luke 23:4 Stood Out

Luke 23:4 (2024) – Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man. [cf. v. 10 – And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him. v. 13 – And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people; v. 23 – And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed. Luke 22:23-27 – And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing. And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.]
