Mark 12:1 (2024) – And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. [cf. v. 2 – And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. v. 7 – But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours. v. 9 – What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. Gen. 9:20 – And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard; Jer. 51:23 – I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers. Zech. 13:5 – But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth. II Tim. 2:6 – The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. James 5:7-8 – Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
