Matthew 1:1 (2024) – The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. [cf. Ps. 40:7-8 – Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. Heb. 10:7 – Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. John 4:34 – Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Matt. 7:21-27 – Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
