How Hosea 2:17 Stood Out

Hosea 2:17 (2021) – For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name. [cf. Josh. 23:7 – That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them; Is. 26:13 – O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name. Ps. 20:7 – Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.]
