Ezekiel 26:20 (2021) – When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living ["land of the living" (Job 28:13; Ps. 27:13; 52:5; 116:9; 142:5; Is. 38:11; Jer. 11:19; Ezek. 26:20; 32:23,24,25,26,27,32); John Gill comments that the Targum and the Jewish expositors regard the land of the living as Israel; he points out that the living God was worshipped there by spiritually living people. It should also be pointed out that the living God dwelt there, and manifested Himself there in the Person of Jesus, the source of living water (John 4:10-14).]
