Jeremiah 39:3 (2024) – And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergal-sharezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsechim, Rab-saris, Nergal-sharezer, Rab-mag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon. [There are commentators who take these to be three persons instead of six, with the second name of each pair being a title. John Gill says that Samgar-nebo means "strict keeper of Nebo" (i.e., of the temple of the god Nebo), Rab-saris means "chief eunuch," and Rab-mag means "chief magician."]
