Isaiah 16:14 (2024) – But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble. [cf. Job 7:1-4 – Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling? As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work: So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me. When I lie down, I say, When shall I arise, and the night be gone? and I am full of tossings to and fro unto the dawning of the day. Is. 16:14 – But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble. Is. 21:16 – For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail; compare Luke 1:23 – And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house. ]
