How Ecclesiastes 1:2 Stood Out

Ecclesiastes 1:2 (2023) – Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. [cf. v. 14 – I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. Compare Ps. 60:11 – Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. Ps. 108:12 – Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. I Pet. 1:18-19 – Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot; Rom. 3:10,23-26 – As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: ... For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.]
