How Proverbs 3:7 Stood Out

Prov. 3:7 – Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.


(2024) – Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. [cf. Job 28:28 – And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Ps. 34:14 – Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. Ps. 37:27-28 – Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. Prov. 3:7-8 – Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Prov. 16:6 – By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil. Prov. 16:17 – The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. Prov. 17:13 – Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house. ]
