How Psalms 138:1 Stood Out

Ps. 138:1 – A Psalm of David. I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.


(2023) – I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. [compare Ps. 23:5 – Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.]


(2022) – I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. [compare Ex. 22:28 –  Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people. Zech. 3:2 – And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? Jude 1:9 – Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.]
