This page may have some technical imperfections, but is made available before inspection for you to benefit from the majority of material that likely has no problems. Ps. 119:50 – This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. (2024) – This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy
word hath quickened me. [cf. v. 93 – I will
never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast
quickened me. Heb. 4:12 – For the word of God
is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged
sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and
of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart. Eph. 2:1 – And you hath
he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Col. 2:13 – And you, being dead in your sins and the
uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with
him, having forgiven you all trespasses; I Pet. 3:18 – For
Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that
he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but
quickened by the Spirit; John 6:63 – It is the
spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words
that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are
life. John 6:68 – Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to
whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. I
John 1:1 – That which was from the beginning, which we have heard,
which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our
hands have handled, of the Word of life; Acts 13:46 –
Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the
word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye
put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life,
lo, we turn to the Gentiles. Acts 5:20 – Go, stand and speak
in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
Philip. 2:16 – Holding forth the word of life; that I may
rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither
laboured in vain. John 5:24 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He
that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath
everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is
passed from death unto life. James 2:18-26 – Yea, a man may
say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy
works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou
believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also
believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that
faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father
justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith
made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham
believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and
he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man
is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the
harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and
had sent them out another way? For as the body without the
spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Gen. 22:1-13 – And it came to pass after these things, that God did
tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here
I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son
Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and
offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I
will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and
saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his
son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went
unto the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day
Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. And Abraham
said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad
will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. And Abraham took
the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his
son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both
of them together. And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said,
My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold
the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt
offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb
for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they
came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an
altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and
laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his
hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the
LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham:
and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon
the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that
thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only
son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked,
and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns:
and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt
offering in the stead of his son. Luke 23:39-43 – And one
of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If
thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked
him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same
condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our
deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus,
Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus
said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in
paradise.] (2022) – This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. [cf. v. 93 – I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
