How Psalms 79:5 Stood Out

Psalms 79:5 (2022) – How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire? [cf. Ps. 85:5 – Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations? Jer. 3:5 – Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest. Ps. 103:9 – He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. Jer. 3:12 – Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever. Mic. 7:18 – Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. Prov. 14:22 – Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.
