Psalms 39:5 (2026) – Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. [cf. Gen. 43:7 – And they said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down? Prov. 27:23 – Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds. Matt. 12:43-45 – When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
