Ps. 38:11 – My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off. (2026) – My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off. [cf. Job 19:13-17 – He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me. My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me. They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight. I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth. My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children's sake of mine own body. Job 42:10-11 – And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.] (2021) – My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
