II Chronicles 35:3 (2021) – And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel [It had been put there in the time of Solomon (II Chr. 5:6-7), but obviously had been removed between that time and this time. Some think it had been removed by those who would put an idol in its place. Others think it was removed by priests for the purpose of protecting it from the evil kings who promoted idolatry. Still others consider that Josiah temporarily removed it during the time the temple was being restored.]
