II Chronicles 10:1 (2026) – And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for to Shechem were all Israel come to make him king. [cf. v. 3 – And they sent and called him. So Jeroboam and all Israel came and spake to Rehoboam, saying; v. 16 – And when all Israel saw that the king would not hearken unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and we have none inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel: and now, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel went to their tents. v. 17 – But as for the children of Israel that dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them. v. 18 – Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that was over the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. But king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem. v. 19 – And Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day. Gen. 32:28 – And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. James 5:16-18 – Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. II Tim. 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Heb. 4:14-16 – Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
