How I Chronicles 11:3 Stood Out

I Chronicles 11:3 (2026) – Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel. [cf. I Sam. 1:20 – Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD. [Ellicott's Bible Commentary for English Readers comments that Samuel is from the Hebrew words literally meaning "heard of God." Other commentators use the term "asked of God," probably because asked is the word used in this verse. But when Hannah asked of God, God heard.]]
