I Chronicles 5:2 (2024) – For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's:) [cf. v. 7 – And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah; v. 12 – Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan. v. 15 – Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers. Luke 22:23-27 – And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing. And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.]
