I Kings 22:6 (2025) – Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king. [cf. v. 15 – So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. II Chr. 35:21 – But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war: for God commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not. I Pet. 3:10 – For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile; Prov. 10:19 – In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. Ps. 119:101 – I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word. Prov. 1:10,15-16,18 – My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause ... walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. ... And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
