II Samuel 23:1 (2025) – Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said [cf. v. 6 – But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands; v. 9 – And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away; v. 11 – And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines. v. 18 – And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three. v. 20 – And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow; v. 22 – These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men. v. 24 – Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem; v. 26 – Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite; v. 29 – Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin; v. 32 – Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan; v. 33 – Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite; v. 34 – Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite; v. 36 – Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite; v. 37 – Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah; Ps. 127:3-5 – Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. Matt. 19:14 – But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Mark 10:14 – But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Gen. 9:7 – And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein. Gen. 35:11 – And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; Gen. 38:7-10 – And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.
