How II Samuel 19:1 Stood Out

II Samuel 19:1 (2026) – And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom. [cf. v. 4 – But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son! v. 6 – In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well. v. 9 – And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom. v. 10 – And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back? II Chr. 11:20-21 – And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith. And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.); I Kings 15:2 – Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom. I Kings 15:10 – And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom. Mark 14:36 – And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. Rom. 8:15 – For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
