How II Samuel 16:8 Stood Out

II Samuel 16:8 (2024) – The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a bloody man. [cf. Ps. 7:16 – His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate. Ps. 62:3 – How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence. Prov. 11:27 – He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him. Ps. 52:1 – Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.]
