How II Samuel 15:6 Stood Out

II Sam. 15:6 – And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.


(2025) – And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel. [cf. Ex. 20:15 – Thou shalt not steal. Lev. 19:11 – Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. Deu. 5:19 – Neither shalt thou steal. Matt. 19:18 – He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness; Rom. 13:9 – For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Eph. 4:28 – Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. II Cor. 8:13-15 – For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack. II Thess. 3:10 – For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.]

"thou ... shalt ... not ... steal" (Ex. 20:15; Matt. 19:18; Rom. 13:9); Lev. 19:11 – Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. Eph. 4:28 – Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.]
