II Samuel 14:24 (2025) – And the king said, Let him turn to his own house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned to his own house, and saw not the king's face. [compare Ex. 33:17-20 – And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. John 1:18 – No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. I John 4:12 – No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
