II Sam. 13:2 – And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.


(2025) – And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her. [compare Song 2:5 – Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love. Song 5:8 – I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love. Lev. 18:9 – The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover. Lev. 20:17 – And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.]
