II Samuel 3:17 (2025) – And Abner had communication with the elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for David in times past to be king over you [cf. Luke 24:17 – And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? I Cor. 15:33 – Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Eph. 4:29 – Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Col. 3:8-9 – But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; Matt. 5:33-37 – Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
