And David sent Abner away; and he went in peace. v. 37 – For all the people and all Israel understood that day that it was not of the king to slay Abner the son of Ner. v. 38 – And the king said unto his servants, Know ye not that there is a prince and a great man fallen this day in Israel? Gen. 32:28 – And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
