How I Samuel 12:3 Stood Out

I Sam. 12:3 – Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.


(2025) – Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you. [cf. 9:27—10:1 – And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God. Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?; "his anointed" (I Sam. 2:10; 12:3,5; II Sam. 22:51; Ps. 2:2; 18:50; 20:6; 28:8; Is. 45:1); "the anointed" (I Sam. 24:6; II Sam. 23:1; Lam. 4:20; Ezek 28:14)]
