How I Samuel 1:17 Stood Out

I Sam. 1:17 – Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.


(2024) – Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him. [cf. v. 27 – For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him; I John 5:14-15 – And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. James 4:1-3 – From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.]
