Judg. 5:2 – Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves. (2026) – Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves. [cf. v. 3 – Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel. v. 5 – The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel. v. 7 – The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel. v. 8 – They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel? v. 9 – My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD. v. 11 – They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates. Gen. 32:28 – And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. James 5:16-18 – Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. II Tim. 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Heb. 4:14-16 – Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.] (2025) – Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
