How Joshua 9:2 Stood Out

Josh. 9:2 – That they gathered themselves together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.

(2026) – That they gathered themselves together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord. [cf. v. 6 – And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us. v. 7 – And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you? v. 17 – And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjath-jearim. v. 18 – And the children of Israel smote them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the princes. v. 19 – But all the princes said unto all the congregation, We have sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel: now therefore we may not touch them. v. 26 – And so did he unto them, and delivered them out of the hand of the children of Israel, that they slew them not. Gen. 32:28 – And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. James 5:16-18 – Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. II Tim. 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Heb. 4:14-16 – Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.]
