How Joshua 7:1 Stood Out

Joshua 7:1 (2021) – But the children [plural] of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children [plural] of Israel. [It was Achan who took of the accursed thing, but God said that the Israelites (plural) committed a trespass. Undoubtedly Achan was not the only one who knew what he had done, but no one did anything about it. The principle of more than one person being held accountable for one person's sin is also found in other parts of Scripture (Num. 18:1-3; Josh. 22:16-18).]
