Genesis 42:22 (2024) – And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required. [cf. Ezek. 3:18 – When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Gen. 9:4-6 – But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
