How Genesis 40:23 Stood Out

Genesis 40:23 (2022) – Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him. [cf. Amos 6:6 – That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph. Ecc. 9:15-16 – Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard. Philip. 2:4 – Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.]
