Gen. 37:16 – And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks (2025) – And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks. [CONTRAST Gen. 4:9 – And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? COMPARE I Pet. 1:22 – Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently; I Pet. 3:8 – Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous; I John 3:14 – We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. I John 3:16-18 – Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. James 2:14-17 – What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. I Tim. 6:17-19 – Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. II Cor. 8:13-15 – For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack. II Thess. 3:10 – For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.] (2023) – And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed their flocks.
