Genesis 29:16 (2025) – And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. [cf. v. 18 – And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter. v. 26 – And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn. Luke 22:24-27 – And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
