2023 13:11 – For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean. [cf. James 4:8-10 – Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.] 13:14 – If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. [cf. v. 16 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. Matt. 10:24-25 – The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord.
