2023 5:3 – For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words. [cf. I John 3:18 – My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.] 5:10 – He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity. James 1:19-20 – Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.] 7:11 – Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun. [cf. 10:10 – If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct. Job 22:2 – Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?] 7:12 – For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. [cf. Prov. 13:14 – The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. Prov. 3:21-22 – 21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. John 6:63 – It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Prov. 2:10-11,16-18 – When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: ... To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. Prov. 6:23-24 – For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Just as the productive portion of our days can be increased, so the number of productive days in our years can be many. Note that length of days is in addition to long life, which leads us to see that it can have a meaning other than long life. A day is always 24 hours long, but the length of the productive portion of our day can be large or small. Also note that the number of days in the calendar year most of the world uses is always either 365 or 366, but that the number of productive days in our year may be many or few.] 6:10 – That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it is man: neither may he contend with him that is mightier than he. [cf. Ps. 103:15-16 – As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.] 7:1 – A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.
