2023 21:2 – And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel. father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a
grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of

The question comes to mind of whether Hezekiah was right in begging the LORD for healing, since the LORD had told him, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live, and since his son Manasseh, who seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel, was born during the extra fifteen years God gave Hezekiah (II Kings 21:1). But we must remember that Josiah, who did much good, descended from Manasseh, and would not have been born if Hezekiah had not had those extra fifteen years.] 22:14 – So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her. And he brought them forth vestments.] 23:3 – And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant. [cf. II Kings 11:14 – And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason. [The days of the week are named for the sun, the moon, and the five planets closest to the sun, which would have been discovered before the ones further away were discovered. The names of some of the days are more obvious in French, but the gods for which the planets are named are equivalent, just with different names in English. Sunday is sun day, of course. Monday is moon day. Tuesday (French mardi, for Mars day), is named in English for the equivalent god Tiw's day. Wednesday (French mercredi, for Mercury day), is named in English for the equivalent god Woden's day. Thursday (French jeudi, for Jupiter's day), is named in English for the equivalent god Thor's day. Friday (French vendredi, for Venus' day), is named in English for the equivalent goddess Frigga's day. Saturday is Saturn's day.] 23:13 – And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile. [Commentators agree that this is the Mount of Olives. The original Hebrew name for the Mount of Olives is from a word meaning "to anoint" (olive oil is used for anointing), but a slight alteration of the letters renders it "corruption" here for the idolatrous practices which occurred there. In I Kings 11:7 we read: Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon, which is another piece of evidence that this is the Mount of Olives. ]
