2023 5:9 – My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household. [cf. v. 11 – And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year. Prov. 27:23-27 – Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds. For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation? The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered. The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field. For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. Heb. 2:6-9 – But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. So Hiram made an end of doing all the work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD [compare v. 51 – So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD. Gen. 2:2 – And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. John 4:34 – Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Rom. 9:28 – For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.]

referring to Solomon; if Solomon would fulfil his
responsibility, then God would dwell with the children of Israel
and not forsake them – their wellbeing depended on him] 6:15 – And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir. [Some comment that this means the walls which reach up to the cieling. Adam Clarke seems to suggest that it means the material that covered the cieling.] 6:21 – So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold. [There is no obvious preceding reference to these chains.] 7:45 – And the pots, and the shovels, and the basons: and all these vessels, which Hiram made to king Solomon for the house of the LORD, were of bright brass.
